India has a number of stunning beautiful beaches that attract hundreds of thousands of  local and international tourists each year. Here I present the top ten beaches in India:

1.  Varkala Beach

Varkala beach is situated in Southern Kollam of state Kerala. It is also known as Papanasam (which means washing away sins) beach. It is believed to be a very sacred place for locals and only known beach in India to have cliffs next to the Arabian Sea. Varkala beach is a suitable place for swimming, surfing and sunbathing. On and beside the cliff, spas and spouts, shops and restaurants are found in large numbers, making it a perfect place for spending some quality time with friends and families.

2. Baga Beach

Baga Beach is Goa's one of the most popular beach which is largely known for beach party. You will find almost all kinds of beach sports such as banana boat rides, dolphin cruises, surfing and parasailing in this remarkably beautiful beach. 3. Marari Beach

It is one of the unspoilt beaches that are safe for swimming and surfing.

Palolem beach is situated within 2.5 Km of Chaudi town market in South Goa. This beach is another unspoiled stunning beautiful beach known mainly for it's nature. This crescent shaped, 1.61 Km long beach is  surrounded by a forest of coconut palms. Accommodation and foods around this beach is remarkably cheap. 

5. Agonda Beach

Agonda beach is located at Canacona taluka of Goa. Agonda beach is a simple and natural beach that is great for swimming, relaxing and sunbathing. It is also great for sports persons who love to surf. It is an ideal vacation destination since it is cheap, quiet and does not have a lot of bustle and hassle. Agonda beach has many bungalow and rooms for rent that are situated alongside the beach.

6. Mahabalipuram Beach

Mahabalipuram Beach  is located south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. There are many old temples near the beach that interest tourists and makes the beach a great destination for beholding both nature and archeological beauties of India. Mixing with the locals, you can learn so  much about Indian culture too. You will find plenty of outstanding stone  sculpturing to buy one as souvenirs. There is a submerged temple that I say is quite a site to see. The accommodation facilities around the beach is of great standard and affordable too.

7. Gokarna Beach

Gokarna beach is situated in Karnataka. It is not well known because it is secluded and considered a holy place. Local pilgrims and foreign tourists all come here for religious and leisure purposes. Gokarna has many top quality hotels to host the number of tourists that visit the beach. During the night bonfires and singing is allowed but parties are held under strict laws for preservation of the town’s religious state.

8. Radhanagar Beach

Radhanagar Beach is located on Havelock Island. This white sandy breathtaking beach has a pristine environment which makes it an ideal honeymoon destination. Normal beach attributes such as availability of beach sports, arrangements for sunbathing are present in there. The beach is completely safe for swimming too. All these features make it one of the top ten beaches in India.

9. Cavelossim Beach

This is another beautiful beach location in Goa. it is a very clean beach that is good for relaxing. Watching the sunset under the shacks can be an amazing experience. The hotels and resorts are not far off the coast and there are sun-beds that allow relaxation to its maximum. 

10. The lighthouse Beach

Located in kovalam, the lighthouse beach receives an large number of foreign and Indian tourists. There are many restaurants and shacks along this beach and it is quite affordable. The sea at this point is safe for swimming up to some point. The tourists get a chance to mingle and show different cultures. It is a good place to have fun.
